🌍 The Problem:
Plastic Pollution
- Between 5 million and 13 million tonnes of plastic enter the oceans every year
- By 2050, there will be more plastic in the sea than fish (by weight)
- Over 1.1 million seabirds and marine animals die annually from ingesting or entanglement in plastic
✨ Our Actions & Campaigns
- Nationwide Events: “The Big Weigh In”—counties unite to clean waterways and tally waste.
- Advocacy: Campaigning for Environmentalism as a core subject in the Irish curriculum.
- School Workshops
° Junior Schools: interactive sessions on plastic pollution
° Senior/TY Students: volunteering opportunities for self-development - Weekly Beach Cleans across Dublin and an expanding network of marine coordinators nationwide
- Clean-Up Kits: reusable hemp bags (20 kg capacity), scales, educational materials
🧹 Corporate Workshop Overview
Each 2-hour session for teams of 20+ is a hands-on, hearts-in experience at a beach location of your choice.
- Beach Clean-Up (all equipment provided)
- Educational Talk on plastic pollution, marine life, and climate change
- Eco-Art Project using collected materials + team photo
Workshop Types
- Facilitator led workshop – This is a volunteer-led beach clean incorporating fun activities to create an engaging and educational afternoon for you and your team.
- Remote workshop with no facilitator – We offer remote clean-ups for those looking to head out to their local beach. We send out packs for clean-up so you are well equipped on the day.
Option for facilitator led: Cleanup Bingo—search for items like coffee cups, toys, polystyrene, vape cartridges, and more for a fun competition.
